4th & 5th grade lessons are moving along nicely.
Cave paintings are being completed and the 5th grade totem poles still need another class period each to finish working.
Very happy with the results!
For the younger kiddies we have been working on a special art fundraiser project dealing with self portraits (don't have any photos of those).
And I began my first 3rd grade lesson yesterday.
We are learning about habitats and what an animal needs to survive. The students will draw their animal in a jar and give it everything it needs to live. Sort of like catching fireflies. Kids are living it so far, and getting really into it.
Our kindergarten classes learned about Mondrian, primary colors, horizontal and vertical lines and created a Mondrian inspired piece of art.
My co-op and I are brainstorming ideas for future projects and we are thinking pop-art food.
So far we have pizza & here is my example. We are starting these in a couple weeks but be on the look out for this fun project!
More photos to come as kids continue to create :)
